Shocking footage shows Birmingham bus driver being attacked

West Midlands Police confirmed a teenager had been charged over the incident and appeared in court on Monday

This is the shocking moment a bus driver was attacked after violence erupted in front of horrified passengers on a night service.

A gang can be seen hurling insults at the driver of the number 23 bus in Birmingham city centre on Saturday night (14 May).

At one point, a youth grabs the bus driver by his tie before bizarrely head-butting the screen while shouting “f**k you” and “you think you’re a bad man”.

Other girls can be seen punching and kicking the screen and trying to grab the driver, who incredibly keeps his calm throughout the four minute ordeal.

He sounded his emergency alarm twice during the attack as the vehicle was parked up on Smallbrook Queensway but no police can be seen coming to his aid.

West Midlands Police confirmed a 17-year-old youth was later arrested and has been charged in connection with the disorder.
