Sheldon: man dies in collision on the Coventry Road

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision last night (Thursday February 10)

A man has died after being hit by a car on the Coventry Road in Sheldon just after 7pm on Thursday (February 10).

A victim, aged in his 40s, suffered serious injuries after being struck by a Range Rover.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services he was tragically confirmed dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police are supporting his family at this distressing time.

The driver of the car is helping officers with their enquiries. The police are also keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “It happened between the junctions of Wells Road and The Glade and we’re particularly keen for anybody with dash cam footage to contact us.”
