Roxy Leisure have announced plans to open their second Roxy Ball Room site in Birmingham.

The new venue will be located at 1 Victoria Square, where Kongs gaming bar and restaurant was situated - adjacent to Victoria Square, home to Birmingham’s Town Hall, Museum and Art Gallery, Council House, and the city’s yearly Frankfurt Christmas Market.

The competitive gaming concept will continue to follow its signature “booze and ball games” mantra by featuring activities such as American pool, basketball, beer pong, ping pong, shuffleboard, ten pin bowling and more, alongside a menu of craft beer, premium spirits and Roxy’s signature food and drinks offering.

It is due to open in February 2023 whilst Roxy Leisure’s Digbeth site will be re-branded and become a Roxy Lanes, to mark the shift in focus from ball games to bowling. The new site has stood empty since Kongs decided not to reopen after the pandemic.

Roxy Ball Room opened on the Digbeth Estate in 2020, and will now focus on its bowling concept, and become Roxy Lanes from February 2023. Under 18s will be welcome at this venue until 5pm, seven days a week.

Founded by Matthew Jones and Ben Jones, Roxy Leisure opened their first Roxy Ball Room site on Leeds’ Boar Lane back in 2013. Following this, they opened their second site and first bowling lane concept, Roxy Lanes, on Leeds’ Bond Street in 2014. Birmingham will be the 4th city in the brand’s portfolio to receive a second site following Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester.

Thanks to the success of our first Birmingham venue, we’re now excited to announce that we will be expanding our Birmingham offering with a second site in the heart of the city centre.
