He’s the comedy star who co-wrote hit show Catastrophe with Sharon Hogan along with starring in Deadpool 2 and a host of Hollywood blockbusters.

The city centre stalls are situated on one of the most historic sites in Birmingham - and traders have been selling goods there since the 12th century. So Rob is joining millions of people through hundreds of years to appreciate the wealth of products on sale - from homewares to clothes to decorations.

The presentation of his special gift was made on the latest episode of Late Night Lycett, screened live last night (Friday, April 21) from The Bond in Digbeth. Brummie comedian and host Joe Lycett organised the unique gift in response to a Tweet made by Rob earlier in the week saying that he wanted a nice denim jacket for a tall man - explaining that “my arms and torso are longer than a normal man”.

Joe came to the rescue with the jacket - which certainly fulfilled the request for long sleeves, as you can see in the clip from the show above - and had an extra treat for Rob, with “Gay for Tom Cruise” emblazoned in sequins on the back.

Rob has been confirmed to appear in the upcoming Mission Impossible 7 film with Tom Cruise, which has scenes filmed in Grand Central in 2021. He was clearly delighted with his gift and repeatedly thanked Joe and Shelly for his new jacket which he tried on immediately.

It was one of a number of hilarious antics on the latest episode of show which also starred Jonathan Ross and Judi Love. “H” from Steps kept the customers busy down at Joe’s corner shop in Kings Heath where a Karaoke took place And a lady called Rachel from Moseley won Joe’s very own Lexus Hybrid after her show was picked out of a tombola.

Rob also, bravely, joined Joe for he Richard Yewtree Straight Talking segment in which the pair posed as right wing news readers and covered some current affairs, including the Grand National protesters.

He wasn’t the only guest to receive a gift. Joe also re-presented Jonathan with a portrait he made of him which Jonathan had given away after he first received it from Joe when the comedian appeared on his chat show.

You can see some of Joe’s art for yourself at the MAC’s Grayson’s Art Club: The Exhibition which has been extended to Sunday, June 25. And if you missed last night’s episode of Late Night Lycett you can see it (and all the previous episodes) on All 4 here
