Birmingham New Street tweeted that their stations and services are likely to be extremely busy during the official mourning period. Short notice changes may be necessary, and passengers should check live travel information before and during their journeys.

If you are traveling to London on Monday, peak restrictions won’t be applicable since it’s a bank holiday.

West Midlands Railway said: “Anytime, Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak ticket holders will be able to get fee-free refunds on tickets which have been purchased before the announcement of Her Majesty the Queen’s death on 8 September. The usual £10 administration fee will be waived. Advance tickets will be “refundable” in line with the existing “Book with Confidence“ scheme, meaning they can be changed or refunded for a voucher up to 6pm the evening before travel.

“Off-Peak tickets can be used on services on Monday 19 September – the day of Her Majesty’s funeral. However, normal peak and off-peak restrictions will apply on other weekdays during the mourning period. This will allow workers, including key workers, to get to their workplace.”
