Police charge Daniel Bryan with possession of a prohibited weapon in Handsworth

A man has been charged after a slam gun was recovered from a car in Birmingham.

Officers were on patrol near Robert Road in Handsworth when they spotted a suspicious vehicle on Friday afternoon (February 17). The Audi was searched and the weapon was recovered.

Daniel Bryan, 20, was arrested and later charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, a firearm without a certificate and having cannabis. The 20-year-old from Handsworth appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (February 20).

He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Crown Court at a later date. Four others - aged between 16 and 22 - were also arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and bailed pending further enquiries.
