Police appeal for witnesses after Solihull influencer killed in road crash in Liverpool

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a Solihull woman who died in a car crash in Birkenhead at the weekend.

Paige Rice was killed in the crash in the Queensway tunnel in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Merseyside police have appealed for witnesses with any CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

The 22-year-old from Marston Green was a passenger in an Audi that crashed into a taxi in the early hours of Sunday morning. She had travelled to Liverpool to visit her boyfriend.

Two men were also seriously injured in the incident under the River Mersey.

The Audi driver, a male in his 20s, remains critically injured, while the taxi driver, a man in his 40s, is in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

Police said the Audi had been in a collision with another vehicle on the Hunter Street roundabout before entering the Queensway tunnel.

Merseyside police are appealing for information following the tragic incident.

The force confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the crash, but officers are continuing to investigate following the tragic incident.

Matrix Inspector Mark Worrell, of Merseyside police, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of the woman who died and those who were injured in this collision.

“The incident is currently under investigation and I would ask anyone who saw anything prior to the collision which could assist our enquiries to get in touch.”
