Police appeal for witnesses after cyclist’s body found in Ladywood canal

West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses after the body of cyclist Paul Morris was found in a canal last month.
Mr Morris, aged 65, was captured on CCTV riding his bike along the towpath at the junction of Ledsam Street and Ladywood Middleway.

Hide AdHis body was discovered at around 6.15pm on Tuesday December 21.
Police are treating the death as “unexplained” after a post mortem examination was inconclusive.
Detective inspector Ade George, said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Morris’ family at this really sad time.
“There is nothing to suggest there was any foul play involved in his death, however we want to understand exactly what happened and to give his family the answers they need.

Hide Ad“There is very little CCTV along this stretch of the canal so I’m asking for anyone who was around the area between 5pm and 7pm on the evening, to get in touch.”
