The comedian has not toured in years and the demand is now through the roof for the show.

“We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority. Sorry, we’re working on it. Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking,” said O2.

Another date was added to Birmingham and Kay will return in March 2023 to perform at Resorts World Arena. The tickets for the March 23 show have also appeared on ViaGogo. The prices range from £148-531.

Meanwhile, fans have been expressing their outrage over the high prices online. “By the time anyone logs on it’ll be sold out,” said one fan.

Another added: “Can’t wait for it to be sold out to the bots who will re-sell to actual fans for 4x the price, priority my A**E.”

Another angry fan said: “48 hours when you probably offer 1000 tickets yeh ok cool.” One fan chided O2 saying: “Your a communications company. you should have set up for this happening, poor service.”

What Viagogo said

“After twelve years away from the stage, the high demand we’re seeing for Peter Kay’s shows in Birmingham is to be expected but it’s important to note that once the initial excitement settles, so too will the market and prices.

“At viagogo, we make it our priority to provide fans with options and flexibility for buying and selling tickets to live events.

“For major events like Peter’s comeback tour, it’s important to note that listing prices are not necessarily an indication of what a fan will spend. We encourage buyers to know what value they put on being at the live show and monitor our marketplace for an offer that works for their budget,” a Viagogo spokesperson told BirminghamWorld.

The global online marketplace clarified that a large portion of tickets for Peter’s shows in Birmingham, as well as other cities across the UK, have been made available via pre-sale, which explains how they may already be available. They also added that they only facilitate ticket sellers and buyers by connecting them. They don’t acquire and sell tickets directly.
