Sharon Osbourne unveils the secret of success for her 40-year marriage to Ozzy - ‘We Are Both Oddballs’

Birmingham-born rocker Ozzy Osbourne, 74, and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, 70, have been in a four decades long marriage and the couple is still going strong.
The met in 1970 when Sharon’s father, Don Arden, managed Black Sabbath. However, romance didn’t blossom immediately as the rocker was married. The couple started dating after Sharon became his manager once he was out of Black Sabbath.

She helped him turn his professional and personal life around, and has been a pillar of strength for after his Parkinson’s diagnosis. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in July and Sharon recently opened up about what keeps their bond strong.
Sharon Osbourne told E! News their secret. She said: “We’re both oddballs. I might look quite normal, you know, the way I dress, but normal is not a word I use often. We’re two oddballs and were two wild young people that found each other. We’re cut from the same mold.”


A few shared traits may not be enough to keep people together. Most people evolve during the course of a relationship, and when one has lasted as long as theirs, they would have seen each other change many many times. Like many other celebrities, who have been married for decades, Sharon said one of the key secrets to their marriage was “to realize you have to accept people for what they are.”
And, the TV personality seems to have completely accepted her Prince of Darkness. “They’ll never be what you want them to be,” Osbourne continued. “You have to accept them. There are good and there are bad parts. If you love them enough, you’ll accept it and realize that you can’t change it.”

Their relationship did not have a smooth sailing as they split up in 2016 but, she looked beyond his imperfections and rekindled their romance. She said: “It’s not been easy, no relationship is easy. You have to work at it. You get your ugly times, your bad times and your horrific times. But if you love each other enough, you’ll work through.”
