Congratulations to Birmingham comedian Joe Lycett who won the best entertainment performance award for his Channel 4 show Late Night Lycett filmed live in Digbeth at the BAFTA TV Awards 2024.
Joe, from Kings Heath, caused quite a stir in his eye-catching outfit in which he modelled himself on Queen Elizabeth I when he arrived on the red carpet for the ceremony at London’s Festival Hall.

What top modelling tip did Joe receive from Elizabeth Hurley?
Joe’s appearance at the BAFTA TV Awards last night (Sunday, May 12) followed the latest live episode of Late Night Lycett filmed live from studios at The Bond on Fazeley Street in Digbeth.

Joe was joined by Hollywood actress Elizabeth Hurley on the Friday night show who gave him her top tip on posing. As you can see in the clip from the show posted at the top of this story it’s all about relaxing your lips - and blowing gently!
Also joining Joe on the canal banks of Digbeth were his eclectic mix of Birmingham regulars on the show, presenter, actress and activist Jameela Jamil and naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham.
