‘I’m officially unofficial’: Alison Hammond makes light of having her Twitter blue tick removed


Alison Hammond has reacted to being stripped of her blue tick on Twitter.
The This Morning presenter, 48, from Birmingham, is among many other celebrities who have spoken out since Elon Musk’s social media shake up.

Hide AdThe multi-billionaire CEO is implementing a new scheme called Twitter Blue, which means users will have to pay £8 a month for their coveted blue ticks.
The blue tick symbol which appears next to Twitter usernames aims to reassure fellow users that the social media company has verified who is running the account.
Alison has jokingly expressed her disregard for the changes in a recent tweet.
The tweet reads: “So there you have it I’m officially unofficial and Have no dry blue tick . Hope your still stick around 😘”.

Hide AdThe This Morning presenter also changed her Twitter username to ‘Alison Hammond (No Dry Blue Tick)’.
Alison is part of a huge number of celebrities who have decided not to pay the monthly fee for their verification.
One follower commented: “Extra respect for those not paying for a tick x”
Another said: “I’m just gonna come out and say it. Celebrities can well afford £8/m. The outrage is unnecessary , just 👀”.
