The University of Birmingham has changed completely over the years with thousands of students having been involved with the Union in one way or another.
A number of huge acts have played at the Guild of Students over the years, so we've decided to take a look at the very best to have hit the stage on the university's campus.
Jez Collins of the Birmingham Music Archive has worked with students and alumni to unearth information on some of the biggest gigs to have take place at the union. Plenty of incredible acts have performed at the university's Guild of Students, Deb Hall, High Hall, Founders Bar, Mason Hall and Cellar Bar.
Jez told the student magazine: "The University of Birmingham holds a special place in music history as the venue for Joy Division's last ever gig, and so many bands got their early gigs here, including Duran Duran, whose singer Simon Le Bon was a student at Birmingham."
Let's take a look at some of the biggest names to have played at the union.
1. The Who
The Who are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century and have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Roger Daltrey and co played at the University in the late 1960s
2. Pink Floyd
Rock legends Pink Floyd played at the university in 1968. Fans at the venue saw the first of the handful of concerts which were performed by the five-piece Pink Floyd.
3. Black Sabbath
It's no surprise that Birmingham's most famous band played at the university. Ozzy and co played at the union a number of times in the 60s
4. Paul McCartney & Wings
Sir Macca formed Wings with his wife Linda and Birmingham's Denny Laine (The Moody Blues). Wings played a surprise concert at the Deb Hall in 1979
