So far six celebrities, including Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Joey Essex and Nile Wilson have performed their first routines.

Love Island winner Ekin-Su faced a disappointing first performance and has found herself in this weekend’s skate-off facing an so far undecided celebrity.

Darren Harriott will compete on Sunday to secure his place in the next episode of Dancing on Ice and will hopefully avoid the dreaded skate-off against the reality television star.

Darren gave an exclusive interview to Birmingham World, where he said: “I’m touring all over the country starting in September, I can’t wait. I’ll be able to get back to some normality after the show, get back on stage and do more stand up again. That will be fun.”

Promoting his tour,  Darren added: “I used to be a bit of Roadman back in gang days but now I’m a comedian going on the road…man! Get it? U better! And YOU better show your boy some support or else you will find me loitering in your garden.”

The comedian has previously spoken out about the gang carrying knives, before one day turning on him and beating him so badly that he woke up in hospital.

After leaving the gang, Darren started at college and began doing stand-up comedy, whilst working as a bouncer to support himself.

When Darren was first booked for Live at the Apollo in the Hammersmith Apollo, the head of security thought the comedian had got his shifts mixed up.

In 2017, Darren was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and then was also nominated at the festival for Best Show Award in 2019.
