18 pin up posters of Duran Duran from the 1980s onwards from American superfan Durandy

The Durandy Collection boasts a host of Duran Duran treasures that span the Birmingham band’s 30 years of fame

He’s been following Duran Duran since the band shot to fame after meeting in Birmingham and playing gigs at the Rum Runner on Broad Street.

And American-based Andy Golub has amassed a huge treasure trove of iconic pin up posters, newspaper clippings, concert tickets and more over thirty years.

He’s known to fans across the world as Durandy and has received numerous endorsements from the band themselves.

Nick Rhodes states, “Andy has amassed the largest known collection of Duran Duran posters in the world.

“It is an unprecedented visual diary of our career, spanning more than three decades, encompassing advertising, artwork, fashion, illustration, photography, and graphic design.

“He has gathered multiple international variations of album posters, scarce screen prints, obscure hand-signed ephemera, and posters for live shows that I had forgotten we had ever played.”

People have travelled across the world to visit Andy’s collection in Seattle, Washington, and now the archivist and author has opened up his archives to BirminghamWorld to celebrate the brilliance of Duran Duran who will be playing at Utilita Arena on May 5.
