Hide AdFrontman Robin Campbell, 68, had been itching to get back on the road and is excited to begin the tour in the Brummie neighbourhood where the band started their journey in 1978. A lot has changed since then with the hitmakers selling over 30 million records worldwide.
Throughout UB40’s career, there has been many ups and downs, including a rift between the singer and his brother, Ali Campbell. The brothers also lost their parents in recent years and Robin helped his ex-bandmate and brother Duncan recover after a stroke. Through these difficult episodes in his life, his longtime partner Luci Crossman, has been by his side, and when he went down on one knee, she was surprised.
Who is Robin Campbell’s wife?
Robin told Woman’s Weekly: “She was very surprised but delighted. We’d been together 20 years, so it hasn’t changed our life, but we thought we ought to make it legal because we are happy and we see it as permanent. She and my ex - the mother of my children - get on well and my kids love her, so it was about time!”

The father-of-two and the baker, who runs the Juci Luci Cake Company, tied the knot “quietly and quickly” in the UK in 2020. While his brother, Ali, wasn’t there, Ali’s kids attended the wedding.
They had their honeymoon in Thailand and soon after they returned to the UK, lockdown was announced. He lost his mum, Patricia, to Pneumonia and then he helped his brother recover after stroke during that time. And, while being home seemed like a great idea in the beginning, soon he started craving the thrill of being on the road.
What can UB40 fans expect at the 45th anniversary tour and homecoming gig?
The band are getting ready for an arena tour apart from the special Moseley concert on August 27. They have a great line-up during their 45th anniversary tour with Soul II Soul. Their next performance is at Croydon Road Recreation Ground on September 3, and they will travel across the UK before returning to Birmingham to perform at Resorts World Arena in November 2024.

And, of course, we will resurrect a few of the old favourites, some of which we haven’t played for a while which is something that we always try to do.”
