It is not often that a reality TV star maintains their popularity, but Birmingham born and raised Alison Hammond has been going strength to strength for more than two decades.

Having made her debut on TV with Big Brother in 2002, she has come a long way in the last 21 years. She has persisted in her chosen path and is presenting as a co-host on ITV’s This Morning this week. She was also recently announced as a co-presenter on The Great British Bake Off (2023–present).

The single mom recently faced a troubling situation. It was reported that she was being blackmailed. West Midlands Police announced that it had made an arrest related to the case over the weekend and released a man on conditional bail today (Monday, March 27).

The police said: “A 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of blackmail against a woman in her 40s has been released on conditional bail.”

Where Alison Hammond was born

Hammond, 48, was born in 1975 in Birmingham. She grew up in Kingstanding, Birmingham and went to Cardinal Wiseman school, according to The BBC.

She has worked as a holiday rep and entertainer in Tunisia and also been a child actress, according to The Sun. After her Big Brother stint, she started presenting on ITV’s This Morning, and became a regular. She became further popular because of her charming celebrity interviews.

Alison has appeared on I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (2010), Celebrity Coach Trip (2012), Strictly Come Dancing (2014), Celebrity Masterchef (2014), I Can See Your Voice (2020), The Masked Singer (2022) and much more. She also acted in Palace Hill (1988–1990), Doctors (2002) and The Dumping Ground (2016).

Is Alison Hammond married?

Alison was married to cab driver Noureddine Boufaied but they divorced in 2014. They share a son - Aiden. According to reports in September 2022, she shares her home with her son in Birmingham.

She was engaged to another man - security guard Jamie Savage - but they broke up in 2017. Alison briefly dated audio visual technician Ben Kusi after meeting him on Celebs Go Dating in 2020. However, they parted ways as well. In February 2023, it was revealed that she has been seeing Ben Hawkins - for two years. However, the TV presenter shared in March 2023 that she was single on This Morning.
