The untitled Star Wars will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy of Ms. Marvel fame. This upcoming movie is expected to be the first LucasFilm Star Wars films since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - which released in 2019. More details about the upcoming film is expected to be announced in April.

There are other Star Wars projects also in the making. Filmmaker Taika Waititi of What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok, and Jojo Rabbit fame is said to be working on a Star Wars film - in which he could star. Another prospective film is being developed by Shawn Levy - who is currently working on Deadpool 3.

Knight, who went to school in Birmingham, is also working on another West Midlands-based show called This Town, telling the story of 2-tone music which began in the region.

Knight, 63, isn’t the first person from the Birmingham to be connected to Star Wars. Actress Felicity Jones starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as Jyn Erso. Jones is from Bournville and was nominated for an Oscar for The Theory of Everything.
