Páirc Festival: The new Irish Festival in Birmingham - line up & set times for August Bank Holiday

Páirc Festival is the exciting new outdoor summer event for Birmingham celebrating the special link between the UK and Ireland.

The new Irish festival will be held in the grounds of the New Irish Centre in Kings Heath, in the former Stadium Club on Wheelers Lane, from 26 to 28 August 2022.

The festival is being organised by The Old Crown in Digbeth co-owners and Solihull Festival organisers who say: “Pairc (“Park”) Festival promises fun for all the family, with a street food village, over 50 market stalls, outdoor bars and beer tents to accompany the celebrations.” It follows the exciting homecoming gig from Ocean Colour Scene the night before.

What is the line up?

Páirc Festival organisers have announced that Imelda May will join Páirc Festival on Saturday hot off her Made To Love tour, which finished in the UK in April, and has now started its Ireland leg.

The Dublin-born musician’s latest album in 2021, 11 Past The Hour, saw a duet with Oasis singer Noel Gallagher, and featured the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood!

Launching the weekend is one of Birmingham’s biggest musical exports and Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene, who headline the Friday launch event. Joined by Birmingham’s hotly tipped for success four-piece indie band The Clause, 7 piece band and Ocean Colour Scene tour veterans Marquis Drive who appeared on the 2021 UK Tour and features Ocean Colour Scene Drummer Oscar’s son Leon Harrison on vocals, followed by Killglass in support.

Saturday will showcase the best of Birmingham and Irish talent with Imelda May and fellow Irish legends Hothouse Flowers, Beoga who co-wrote Ed Sheeran’s hit Galway Girl, Damien Dempsey and Hermitage Green taking to the stage, and The Father Teds and Lampa heading up Birmingham’s offering to the bill.

Sunday will round off celebrations with Finbar Furey and Nathan Carter headlining, joined by Irish icons The Sharon Shannon Trio, The Dublin Legends and The Kilkennys, alongside homegrown talent and Birmingham Irish bands On The Sesh and Bang On The Ear.

Attendees can also enjoy Páirc’s street food village, Irish Dance School, market stalls celebrating local makers and traditional Irish produce, plus outdoor bars and beer tents!

Are tickets available and how much to they cost?

To further celebrate, organisers have released the first Early Bird tickets at a special launch price - attendees are encouraged to book now to be part of a commemoration of Birmingham, Ireland and beyond this summer!

Prices currently start at £35.00 for an adult day ticket, £63 for an adult weekend ticket, and £90 for a three day adult ticket, which includes the Ocean Colour Scene event, taking place on the Friday of Páirc Festival. VIP tickets are also available for the weekend.
