‘Five years of hell’ - Ozzy Osbourne makes health admission during Piers Morgan interview

Ozzy Osbourne has given an update on his health in a new interview with Piers Morgan.

The Black Sabbath frontman appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Wednesday night (September 21) along with his wife Sharon and their two children Kelly and Jack where he spoke about his health issues.

Ozzy, the Birmingham-born icon who grew up in Aston, put on a stellar performance to close the Commonwealth Games in 2022 despite the fact the 73-year-old has been suffering from serious health issues which have gotten worse in the last five years. He appeared on the show ahead of the world permiere of Black Sabbath: The Ballet at Birmingham Hippodrome on Saturday (September 23).

In 2003, Ozzy suffered a fall and dislodged metal rods placed in his spine following a quad-bike accident. He also suffered a fall in 2019 which worsened his back and neck and resulted in spinal damage. He suffers from Parkinson’s disease and emphysema - a lung condition that causes shortness of breath.

Speaking to Morgan, Ozzy revealed that he will have neck surgery ‘for the last time’ and said he has had ‘five years of hell’ due to his health.

“I finally had my last procedure two days ago,” he said. “I can’t believe I have come to the end of it. It’s been five years of absolute hell for me and the family.

“The family has been so supportive of me. I couldn’t have done it without them. It’s been a really bad scene. I have Parkinson’s but I never think about it.”

Sharon said his deteriorating health has had a big impact on the family in recent years. She said: “It’s been really hard especially in the summers because every summer Ozzy goes out to work and do festivals and we’re travelling all over the world and for the last five years our lives have changed dramatically.”

“On the other hand it’s been great having Ozzy at home, but he’s driving me crazy!” she joked.
