Newtown: police release CCTV after man suffers serious injuries in assault

Police are looking to trace people seen in a CCTV clip after a man was assaulted near Birmingham city centre.

Between 5.50am and 6am on 3 March, a man was repeatedly hit with a wheel lock and rocks on Summer Lane, Newtown.

Around six to eight people believed to have been involved fled the scene.

Police said the man suffered serious injuries during the assault.
