A Birmingham man and 2 teenagers due in court for Ronan Kanda murder

Three people have been charged with the murder of 16 year old Ronan Kanda who was fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton last Wednesday. Josiah Francis from Rubery and two 16 year olds who cannot be named are due to appear in court. Two others also arrested have been released on bail.

West Midlands Police detective resigns after admitting drink driving while off duty

A former detective who admitted to drink driving while off duty would have been sacked had he not already resigned. A hearing into his misconduct found that the officer had breached the standards of professional behaviour, and has been placed on the College of Policing Barred List.

Barristers at Birmingham Crown Court continue strike action

Criminal defence barristers will continue strike action in a dispute over pay and conditions. Last week saw a three day walkout, and that action is set to repeat this week, with the number of days gradually increasing.  They will gather outside of Birmingham Crown Court.
