Rail Strikers intend to disrupt Commonwealth Games
West Midlands Trains drivers are intending to strike with action potentially starting three days before the Commonwealth Games. Members are striking as part of a pay dispute. A source said that they fully intend to disrupt the Games, which get underway later this month.
Teenager dies following stabbing in Lozells
A 16-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in Lozells on Tuesday evening. The teenager was found with stab wounds and given first aid treatment, but died at the scene. Witnesses reported hearing gun fire and seeing four to five people fleeing on foot along Villa Street. West Midlands Police are appealing for information following the incident.

Hide AdOvernight police have made three arrests – two boys aged 12 and 15 have been arrested for violent disorder, and a 19-year-old man is in hospital with an arm injury, but remains under arrest on suspicion of murder.
Domestic abuser jailed for 13 years
A domestic abuser who repeatedly abused a teenage girl has been jailed. Kyle Pugh, from Chelmsley Wood, subjected the girl, now aged 18, to four years of coercive control, including physical and sexual assaults. Pugh was jailed for 13 years at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.
