Chop Shop raid
Police arrested seven men and seized lots of vehicle parts in a ‘chop shop’ raid on Tuesday (5 July).
Officers moved in at the yard off Moseley Road, Sparkbrook, as part of an intelligence-led operation into the site. Inside they found a Land Rover Discovery stolen during a key-less theft in Coventry two days earlier, plus a Range Rover Evoque that enquiries revealed was stolen back in 2020 in Greater Manchester.

Hide AdA driver who deliberately drove into a much-loved Birmingham grandad in 2016 was jailed for life yesterday (Thursday, July 7) - with a minimum tariff of 22 years.
Samuel Rogers, from Walsall, was convicted of murdering Paul Maloney, from Kings Norton, last month.
Paul was left paralysed after Rogers drove into his Ford CMax on Melchett Road in Kings Norton. The 52 year-old died 14 months later in hospital from pneumonia and sepsis.
Cadbury workers get pay rise
Cadbury workers have won a 17.5% pay rise, according to their union Unite.

Hide AdWorkers at the chocolate company, which is based in Bournville, Birmingham, secured a two-year pay deal worth up to 17.5% for more than 1,000 Cadbury workers.
The will also receive a separate 25% boost in holiday pay. Unite’s members at Cadbury’s sites in Bournville, Birmingham, Chirk, Wales and Marlebrook in Hereford recorded an 80 per cent vote in favour of the deal, which over two years, inclusive of bonuses, is worth up to 17.5 per cent to the workers.
