Woman dies in Kingstanding house explosion

A woman has died following a house explosion in Kingstanding. Emergency services were called to the house on Dulwich Road Sunday night. West Midlands Fire Service said the incident is believed to be a gas explosion. Another man suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Birmingham airport worst for delays and cancellations

Figures reveal that Birmingham Airport is the poorest performing in the country with 41% of flights experiencing disruption. April saw flight punctuality fall to its lowest levels so far this year throughout the UK. Staff shortages are said to be the cause behind many of the disruptions.

Birmingham florist launches giant ‘whistle-in’ of the city’s Commonwealth Games

A Birmingham florist is launching a campaign encouraging thousands to “whistle-in” the launch of the Commonwealth Games. The Big Whistle organisers have already procured more than 500 whistles. They hope that many will come together on the 28th July for a ‘gold old whistle’.
