Solihull Council leader defends Birmingham Airport CEO 49% pay rise

The leader of Solihull Council defends the pay rise of Birmingham Airport’s CEO. Despite many issues at the airport, Nick Barton received a 49% pay rise, leading to a salary of almost £600,000 per year. Councillor Ian Courts said the airport’s survival was in no short measure down to the Chief Executive.

Car key burglars snared

Two car-key burglars have been jailed for almost ten years between them after being caught red-handed by police, bringing a five month crime spree to an end. Dashcam footage of police chasing Khye Salmon and Callum Rivers through red lights ends with the pursuing officer shunting the stolen vehicle to a halt.

Joe Lycett offers to help Boris and pens hilarious Nadine Dorries letter

In a series of tweets, Brummie comedian Joe Lycett penned a humorous resignation letter on behalf of Nadine Dorries, and then offered to help the struggling Prime Minister himself. He then tweeted Nadine to put in a good word for him.
