The 32-bed hospital will be open for men and women with mental health conditions.

The hospital is expected to employ up to 130 staff in a range of roles including around 20 nurses and 80 healthcare assistants, alongside doctors, therapists, housekeepers and maintenance staff.

In preparation for the opening of the new hospital, Active Care Group (ACG) who will operate the hospital, will be hiring a Hospital Director, to be announced by June.

Created in response to the significant demand for additional mental health care services supporting adults in the region, the hospital will provide 32 beds for adult patients with acute mental health conditions.

“The centre will help people with acute mental health needs to receive the support they need. The hospital will also add more than a hundred new jobs in healthcare and support services to the community.

“ACG will work closely with the new Hospital Director to ensure the very best care for the people we look after, and I look forward to welcoming the many new team members who will be joining the hospital throughout the year.
