Muddy Stilettos has unveiled its new guide for the best places to live in Birmingham and the West Midlands in 2023 - with its readers nominating the best neighbourhoods in their areas.
Covering more regions than ever before - the definitive insider guide draws boasts unparalleled local knowledge and insight into 28 most of sought-after counties in England, guiding potential buyers to local hot spots and up-and-coming areas. And Muddy Stilletto followers have ranked some incredible neighbourhoods in the West Midlands from the list it drew up previously, while working alongside Strutt & Parker estate agents.
There are six Birmingham neighbourhoods in the the top 10. A total of 250 best places to live in 2023 are on the national list. The overall winnner across the UK is due to be announced by Muddy Stillettos on March 28.
Let’s take a look at 10 locations in the West Midlands that made it into the Muddy Stilettos’ expert guide after readers voted on their selection:
1. Knowle, Solihull
Knowle has take the top spot in this year’s guide - up from number two in the last guide. The Muddy guide says: “If you’re looking for a base where the kids can grow up knowing the neighbours, the community spirit is strong here, and the village calendar is packed with events through the year, including Knowle Fun Run, Fireworks Evening, Knowle Christmas Light Switch On and Knowle and Dorridge Lions Festive Walk. There’s a great selection of primary schools for littlies, as well as plenty of indie shops, pubs and eateries to while away the hours in.”
2. Earlsdon, Coventry
Earlsdon, Coventry is in at number 2 - a big jump from number nine in the previous guide. Muddy Stilettos says: “Earlsdon with its top central location and vibrant nightlife is more popular than ever thanks to Cov’s title as City of Culture.”
3. Bournville, Birmingham
Number three on this list is Birmingham’s model village Bournville. The village is best know of course for being the home of Cadbury’s chocolate. The guide previously ranked it as number seven. Photo: david hughes - stock.adobe.com
4. Moseley, Birmingham
Birmingham’s trendy neighbourhood is said to rival the most desirable London suburbs with its excellent foodie scene, independent shops, annual festivals and buzzy social scene. It was ranked as the number one place for the West Midlands previously.
