Motorcyclist dies in Handsworth crash

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist died in a collision with a car on Hutton Road, Handsworth on Saturday afternoon (March 5).

It happened at the junction with Crompton Road just after 3.30pm.

The man, aged 20, was treated at the roadside but sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead before he got to hospital.

The driver of the car is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Collision investigators closed Hutton Road and asked drivers to avoid the area, saying they expected it would be closed for some time.
