The film, called The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light, has been entirely crafted by Skinner. The musician, who grew up in West Heath, wrote, directed, filmed, edited and scored the film.

What’s the film about?

The film follows the seemingly mundane life of a DJ on a journey through authentically depicted nightclub scenes to create a tripped-out modern-day murder mystery all its own.

The Streets, Skinner’s musical project, has also announced its first full-length album since 2011, which bears the same name as the film and is intrinsic to its development by providing the soundtrack to the story.
