Canadian singer Michael Bublé is the latest superstar to make an appearance in Birmingham after he booked out Indian restaurant Opheem in the city centre to eat with his family on Thursday (30 June).

Bublé is preparing to embark on a UK tour which will see him perform at Warwick Castle on Wednesday (13 July), and like many A-listers - including Johnny Depp and Ed Sheeran - to have visited Birmingham recently, Bublé used his time in the West Midlands to go for a good Indian meal.

The singer took to Instagram to express his delight at being able to dine at Aktar Islam’s Michelin star restaurant.

He said: “Tonight in Birmingham my friend Aktar closed down one of the great restaurants in the world called Opheem, and he closed it down just for me and my family.”

Bublé is the latest star to dine out at one of our city’s best loved curry houses.

Renowned Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah is the latest famous face to have dined at Asha’s in Newhall Street.

Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in world cricket, and paid a visit to Asha’s on Wednesday (June 29).

He was in town as his country were facing England in a single test match at Edgbaston Stadium.

Uprising Bollywood superstar Anushka Sen paid a visit to Varanasi last month.

Sen has over 37 million followers on Instagram, and dined at Varansi on June 13.

The model and actress is best known for portraying the role of Meher in the children fantasy show, Baalveer.

Johnny Depp is one of the biggest names to have paid a visit to Birmingham in recent years.

Depp was in Birmingham at the start of June after winning his multi-million defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star left a “large tip” after booking out a Birmingham curry house Varanasi as he continued a series of surprise appearances alongside Jeff Beck who played in Birmingham that week.

The 58-year-old dined out at Varanasi in the city’s Broad Street but he has also been seen in Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield in recent weeks.

Ed Sheeran also ate at Asha’s when he visited Brum in April with his friend and rapper Jay Kae.

Ed spent the evening at The Roost pub in Small Heath, but before that he headed to Asha’s to enjoy some of the best Indian food the city has to offer.
