Man suffers life-threatening injuries after crash on Warwick Road, Solihull

A man has sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash in Solihull last night (29 December).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident involving a car and a pedestrian on Warwick Road, Knowle in Solihull at around 11.41pm,and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and a emergency doctor to the scene.

Hide AdA West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: “On arrival crews discovered the pedestrian in a critical condition. Crews immediately began administering advanced life support to him at the scene.
“Treatment continued en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham where he was conveyed for further treatment. The driver of the car did not require treatment.”
The road was shut for around eight hours following the crash, with police urging drivers to avoid the area. The road has now reopened.
A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on Warwick Road just before midnight.

Hide Ad“The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with our inquiries.
