Man still wanted over Small Heath murder as third man charged

Police say they still urgently need your help to find Abdirahaman Yussuf

A third person has been charged a third person with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed to death in Small Heath.

Gaman Sheek, 18, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (23 December) accused of murdering Yahya Sharif.

Yahya, aged 18, died after being stabbed on Coventry Road just before 5.30pm on 10 December.

Sheek is the third man to be charged with Yahya’s murder and was arrested at his home on Castle Road, Birmingham, on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, police say they still urgently need your help to find Abdirahaman Yussuf.

The 19-year-old from South Yardley in Birmingham is wanted in connection with Yahya’s death.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “You may be committing a serious crime if you know where Yussuf is but don’t tell us, so please do the right thing.

“We continue to investigate Yahya’s death and still want to hear from anyone who may be able to help us.

“A family have lost a loved one and they need answers.

“If you don’t want to speak to us, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
