Man shot on Bridge Street in Wednesbury

Police are appealing for witnesses after shooting victim was left at a hospital

West Midlands Police are investigating after a man was taken to hospital with gunshot injuries in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, August 13).

The victim, in his 30s, has potentially life-changing injuries, and was dropped off by a Mercedes around 4am. Police have not said which hospital.

Officers traced the car to Edgbaston which had been travelling with a BMW. When they searched the BMW, they found a knife and a quantity of drugs. Both cars have been seized for forensic examination.

A WMP spokesperson said: “Our enquiries have led us to believe the shooting took place on Bridge Street in Wednesbury so the area has been sealed off for further examination.
