Man jailed after teenage boy shot in Aston

A man has been jailed after a 15 year old boy was shot in Aston. Eoin Bailey committed the attack in broad daylight, firing two shots - hitting the boy’s leg and foot. Eoin Bailey was sentenced to 13 years for grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm. The boy has since made a full physical recovery.

Tipton man charged following a homophobic attack in the Gay Village

A man has been charged following a homophobic attack in Birmingham’s Gay Village where a man was hit over the head with a bottle. Usman Murtza from Tipton carried out the unprovoked attack in October, and is due to appear in court charged with two counts of assault.

Hundreds of suspected omicron cases found in Birmingham

Latest government figures show that Birmingham has 733 suspected cases of Omicron and 25 confirmed cases, This is the 11th highest total of cases across England. The spread of the variant has been compared to an express train, with ministers considering calls for a Christmas lockdown.
