Man in critical condition after serious crash in Shirley

A man is in critical condition after a crash involving two cars on the Stratford Road, Shirley on Sunday (17 April).
A Ford Fiesta ST was involved in the crash with a BMW M3 at about 6:25pm.

Hide AdA 40-year-old passenger from the Fiesta ST was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, he has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition.
Both drivers stayed at the scene, but the driver of the ST – a 36-year-old man, was arrested by officers on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.
Another two passengers, one from each car, were not seriously injured.
