Man in 40s and two teenage boys quizzed after 13-year-old stabbed to death

Police have released an update after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Oldbury.

Hide AdTwo teenagers were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murdering the 13-year-old, who was stabbed to death in Lovett Avenue on Thursday, August 29.
Police have now confirmed a man in his 40s was also arrested on Sunday, on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said today: "The 13-year-old was treated by paramedics, however, despite their best efforts, the boy sadly passed away.

Hide Ad"His family are being supported by officers at this tragic time. A man in his 40s was also arrested yesterday on suspicion of assisting offences, and also remains in custody."
Police have reissued an appeal for information on exactly what happened on Thursday. The spokesperson continued: "We have a team of detectives investigating exactly what happened during this tragic incident, and our appeal for witnesses continues. "We still really need to hear from anyone who was in Lovett Avenue and the surrounding roads or streets from 3.30pm onwards on August 29.
"If you were there and heard or saw anything unusual that you think may help the investigation, it’s vital you get in touch."
