Man dies after being hit by car in Olton, Solihull

Police are appealing for information following the incident

A man in his 80s has died after being hit by a car in the Olton area of Solihull on Monday night (17 January).

The collision took place on Warwick Road, when the man, aged 87, was hit by a red Ford Fiesta at the junction with Grange Road at around 6pm.

He suffered serious injuries and died in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting with police enquiries.

A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this sad and distressing time.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with dashcam footage is urged to get in contact with us as we work to establish exactly what happened.
