Police have charged a man with a number of drugs offences after stopping a vehicle in Birmingham

Raheel Akbar, aged 21, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates court today (August 18) for a first hearing charged with four offences.

He is charged with being concerned in the supply of both crack cocaine and heroin and possession with intent to supply both Class A heroin and crack cocaine.

The arrest comes West Midlands Police carry out Operation Target, which sees the force tackling issues such as drug dealing and burglary, to cyber crime and fraud.

Officers will be using local intelligence, seizing goods, carrying out warrants and targeting offenders as part of the operation’s ongoing crackdown against organised crime.
