The man will be questioned on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control. The victim was out with her labradoodle on Somerset Road in Handsworth when the dog, believed to be a bull breed, charged at them.

She was knocked to the ground and left with a leg and head injury and spent four days in hospital. The man with the dog left the scene on a bike after the attack, which happened on 4 August at around 7.45pm. The labradoodle suffered puncture wounds, but is now recovering.
