Machete and cricket bats brandished during ‘large fight’ in Aston Park

Police have arrested six men after a large disorder in Aston Park on Monday (20 June). Concerned members of the public called police at around 1pm after a group of up to 10 men began fighting.
Weapons including a machete and cricket bats were being brandished.

Hide AdThere were no reports of any injuries. Armed units who were patrolling in the area got to the scene and arrested several men as they tried running away.
All six men – aged between 20 and 25 – were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, while a 20-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a machete.
A cricket bat was later found discarded into bushes.
The men were questioned and then released under investigation to allow police more time to conduct further enquiries and examine CCTV evidence.
