The M42 will be closed between junctions 3 (Portway Island) and 3a at the M40 interchange.

Tomorrow (Saturday 11 March), work will be carried out between 9pm and 8am and the carriageway closed on the southbound side. On Sunday the northbound carriageway will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

National Highways statement

A statement from National Highways read: “The condition of the road surface has deteriorated, exacerbated by the winter weather conditions, resulting in a number of large potholes along the hard shoulder, which is currently being used as a running lane during works to upgrade the central reservation barrier.

“During the closures, clearly-signed diversions will be in place.”
