2 men jailed for murder of Naasir Francis in Lozells

Two men have been handed life sentences following the murder of a young man in Lozells. Naasir Francis was shot several times at close range in August following disorder between two rival groups.

Darnell Donovan-Harris and Teeko Le were both sentenced to life with a minimum of 18 and 20 years respectively.

Police officer donates stem cells and saves a life

A West Midlands Police officer has helped save the life of a stranger after donating his stem cells. PC Anil Bains was found to be a match for a patient in Sheffield suffering from blood cancer, and volunteered to take part in the five hour procedure.

Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull wins eco award

Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull has won the accolade for Environmental Best Practice at the International Green Apple Awards 2021. The centre beat off strong competition from more than 500 other nominations. Touchwood was recognised for high achievement in a host of sustainable projects.
