A woman who was found dead in a Worcestershire country lane - on the outskirts of Birmingham - on Friday (27 May) has been named as 35-year-old Kerry Owen.

One man has been charged with her murder and other man is also under investigation.

A statement from West Mercia Police, read: “A woman who was found dead on Wast Hills Lane in Hopwood, Worcestershire on Friday 27 May has been named as 35-year-old Kerry Owen.

“Alan Edney, aged 30, of Kenilworth Road, Birmingham, has been charged with her murder and remanded to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today ,Tuesday 31 May.

“A 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation.”

Wast Hills Lane has now re-opened.
