Kings Heath became Queens Heath for the day to celebrate Pride month and the final day of Jubilee Weekend - photos by Jamie Cooper
The weather wasn’t the best, but that didn’t stop the crowds turning out to celebrate Queens Heath Pride armed with brollies, ponchos and a smile.
Paddington Bear wasn’t about - but artists such as Fatt Butcher, Alanna, Blanche, Barbra Nice, Crip Ladywood, Eric Scutaro, Maxx Gentlemen, Ginny Lemon, and DJ Just Soriah defied the odds to join the stage as many events across the country had to be cancelled amid weather warnings.
Independent craft beer bar the Juke became the Duchess, the Gorilla Coffee Cafe rebranded as Priscilla Coffee Cafe nad The Kingsway transformed into the House of Queensway as part of the fun.
The Queens catwalk, magic, disco dance classes were also among the entertainment - along with a Queer as folk cafe off, Queens Heath markets and live art installations.
It’s the second time Kings Heath has become Queens Heath with the inaugural event being held last September.
It’s the second year that Kings heath has turned into Queens Heath for the day to celebrate gay pride and the event is certainly full of pride.
