We spoke to young Brummie Charli about her feelings surrounding the upcoming General Election

Many are hoping the upcoming General Election will signify a change for the country - whatever the result.

But young people up and down the country are fearful their needs will continue to be unmet even if a fresh Government gets into power.

We spoke to Charli a 23-year-old activist, speaker, writer, influencer, and content creator from Birmingham about the upcoming election. She spoke candidly about employment struggles, mental health challenges, and her ongoing fears that young people just won’t show up to vote.

As one of the youngest cities in the UK, Charli is pleading with her peers to turn up to the polls on July 4th. She said: “If young people don’t register and don’t go out to vote, especially in Birmingham then we will be disproportionately affected by political decisions.”
