This week has seen the whole of the West Midlands covered in snow. School’s closed, travel chaos, cold hands and feet and of course a slippery ground beneath us - but it’s undeniably a beautiful sight. I’m here in Birmingham to find out who loves it, who hates it and the best way to spend a snowy day.

People always have mixed opinions on the snow, some love it, some hate it - I suppose it all depends on what you have to do that day. So when snowy days come around, we all have our own idea of the best way to spend it.

Teresa says: “I’m not a person of black and white. I’m full of grey areas, and I suppose it depends on whether I’m in the snow playing in it or driving to work in it. So - it can be dangerous, it can be really cool.”

Vanessa says: “I absolutely love it. I really, really do. I think it looks so beautiful when you go out when you go walking, and it just just lightens the whole of the world really, to be honest. I just think it’s beautiful when it snows. Obviously it causes a lot of disruption, but it is amazing.”

Rhiane says: “I love the snow in England when it snows. I grew up in Massachusetts, so we used to get really bad snowstorms all the time. So it’s really nice now to have infrequent snow.”

Vanessa says: “I love getting up really early. I love watching the snow anyway, but I love getting up really early and taking my little dog Milly the Beagle out for a walk with my husband and we go around all the park and all the way through the lake and it’s beautiful. That’s what I do on my snowy day. So as well as sit at home obviously and watch the snow outside with a fire lit, so that’s quite nice as well.”

Luliun says: “Well it depends . I would like to spend it at home which is nice and warm or in a warm place. But if it’s not going around is not bad. Seeing everything white is not a bad thing.”
