Hide AdQuarry Walk Park, on Coppice Lane Freehay in Alton, dates back to the 1900s when it was a sand and gravel quarry. It started life as a caravan and camping site in 2003 by the current vendor, with the first log cabin built in 2004. The business now comprises 44 lodges/log cabins, 21 glamping pods with a dedicated caravan, motorhome and trailer tent area.
The property is an established holiday park with a masterplan in place outlining a series of proposals, including a café to also cater for external customers not staying at the park, the redevelopment of the existing Caravan Club touring fields comprising 12 new glamping pods and four three-bed lodges with a central pool, hot tub and fire pit, as well as 23 multi-level cabins/glamping pods and 21 glamping/lodges on the lower field at varying levels.
Shaun Skidmore, senior director in CBRE's Operational Real Estate team, said: "This is a key investment and development opportunity for the right operator and/or investor to acquire a popular and well-established woodland retreat close to a number of tourist attractions including Alton Towers, the Peak District National Park, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Peak Wildlife Park and Chatsworth House.
"It is ideally placed and offers a range of future redevelopment plans."
CBRE has been appointed as sole adviser on the sale, acting for a private client.
