A man has been taken to hospital this morning (January 24) following a hit and run in Sparkbrook.

Highgate Road was closed from Hayden Circus to Woodfield Road following the collision.

The road has now reopened.

The man, in his 40s, was hit by a car which left the scene - he is now in critical condition in hospital.
