Global heavy metal stars visit the Black Sabbath Bench in Birmingham - with Anvil, Anthrax, Vader & more
The Black Sabbath bench at the bottom of Broad Street is attracting attention from heavy metal heroes from around the world
It’s a popular tribute to some of Birmingham’s best loved loved heroes - the Black Sabbath bench above Black Sabbath Bridge on the canal by Brindleyplace at the bottom of Broad Street.
Hundreds of Brummies walk past it every day and thousands more have sat in the seat of honour to Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
But it’s not just local people who admire the world’s first ever heavy metal band born and bred in Birmingham - inspired by the industrial entrepreneurship in the factories of Aston.
Rock heroes from across the globe have been making a special trip to Brum to post for a photograph at the bench.
Vocalist and guitarist Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow, from Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, is one of the latest rockers to be pictured at the canal bridge venue on Broad Street in the city’s Westside business district – both alone, and then with fellow band members.
And he’s not alone! Here are six international heavy metal stars who have posed for a snap at the Black Sabbath bridge
